Before the hundreds of Happy New Years fill our screens this evening we once again would like to thank all of you out there that have given so much, not just this past year, to helping our cause.
As we reflect on 2017 as a charity we cannot believe you have accomplished so much. From buying the respite nurses their own vehicle, the ever growing KissyPuppy Bereavement Service and to finishing the year with our annual Christmas Party at the Hospice as well as everything in between.
As 2018 begins we are going to need your support that little bit more. We realise we ask so much from so many of you but this next year will hopefully see the beginning of our biggest challenge to date. Finally, alongside the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, we are going to be able to provide a solid base for the children’s services we support. A permanent multi use space. A space where they can continue and grow the excellent, vital work they do and that is so clearly, and sadly, needed.
A massive challenge ahead of us but we are confident we can achieve it and give a lasting legacy for the island and its whole community for years to come.
As we reflect on 2017 as a family all we can say is another year closes without our beloved Sophs. Another year of pain and heartache and guilt and anguish and sorrow.
As you usher in the new year this evening say a prayer for all those that aren’t with us in person but which we carry forever in our hearts.
Have a wonderful evening wherever you are and whatever you do.
Happy New Year
